Ruchika Godha is the COO of Advaiya Solutions - a software company based in Udaipur.

Ruchika Godha hails from the city of Udaipur. She got the inspiration of pursuing the corporate field from her father who was himself a very successful industrialist. She used to accompany him to his factory in her childhood and would observe him doing his work. She says that although her father inspired her to pursue a certain profession, it was her mother who made her independent and strong, as she was a very strong lady herself. Her mother passed away at a young age, leaving her to learn things on her own, and that made her brave and independent.

Ruchika thinks of herself as a workaholic and also someone who can mentor and lead people, especially in the field of HR. She has been working for twenty years now, fifteen years with Advaiya, and before that for Jet Airways and similar companies. She says that she learned a lot about business and life in all these years of work.

Ruchika is a stickler for commitment. She believes that people can rely on her and makes herself responsible to gain people’s trust.

Ruchika considers Ratan Tata and Indira Gandhi to be her role models. She says that she gets inspiration to work well with professionalism and integrity from Ratan Tata. Indira Gandhi has been her role model since her childhood days. Ruchika looked upon Indira Gandhi as someone who could make decisions and lead people; her strong personality swayed Ruchika. She says she also gets inspired by people who are constantly learning regardless of their age or any other factor for that matter.

Ruchika says that she only has one regret in her life, that she didn’t stand by her convictions. She wanted to do her graduation from XLRI but her parents didn’t agree. She thinks if she would have taken the exams and gotten in, ultimately her parents would have agreed too. Ruchika gives the same advice to the youth that they must pursue their goals, regardless of what others have to say and try to convince your parents to let you do it. She also wonders if there was anything that she could have done to give more time and attention to her mother.

Ruchika is of the opinion that there must be a single entrepreneur wing for both men and women, instead of separating them, thus narrowing the gender gap. She thinks that if provided enough opportunities, women can perform excellently in every aspect of life. She thinks although there has been a tremendous positive change in the condition of women in India, there's still room for improvement and this can be achieved only when the society acts as a whole.

Ruchika cites the example of AIA supported interviewing techniques, in which the gender, caste and race of the interviewee is not revealed. This suggests that many steps can be taken by the ones who are in positions of influence to reduce gender bias. She believes that everyone is inherently good by nature, it's just the lack of training that makes them perform poorly.

Ruchika’s advice to freelancers is that they should be true to themselves and focus on values instead of money.

The period of lockdown proved to be very good for Ruchika. She got to spend time with her family and started to work out more to keep fit during the pandemic.

Although Ruchika considers herself to be a workaholic, she takes her time off and listens to music and also devotes some of her time to reading to destress her mind and relax. She advises others too to find something that relaxes them and takes their mind off work stress.
